Watch For The New C-Class
Mercedes has finally completed the construction of the W204 C-Class that was launched in Europe. Know they are focusing all of their attention to creating the AWD 4Matic Mercedes. If they complete the project on time then they will be able to go on sale by the time winter rolls around. This new 4Matic model will be equipped with the center diff right next to the engine. Much like in the brand new S-Class model.
In September, Mercedes will be showing off their new C-Class wagon to the public in Frankfurt and will be going on sale in Europe not long after. It is not likely that this will sell in the U.S., because they are planning on their own compact SUV to arrive. This SUV will be much like the W204 4Matic, but will be called the X204 and will be dubbed the MLK. Many people have already seen the MLK being tested thoroughly. It will become the next competitor to BMW’s X3.
The C-Class also is being crafted with the amenities of the AMG. It will be getting AMG’s remarkable 6.2-liter V-8, rated at a shattering 480 horsepower-enough to see off even the new-generation BMW M3. It has a seven-speed auto and an all-new rear axle compared with the base car in order to improve traction and durability under the duress of the engine.
Next year a more economical yet powerful V-6 will be offered in Europe over the current C350: the C350CGI, a direct-injection unit offering 288 horsepower, a rise of 20 on the current V-6. Compression ratio is 12.2 to one, and it runs with stratified charge and lean-burn operation up to about 75 mph. Its U.S. debut depends on the availability of sulfur-free fuel.
